Moderation transparency
Moderation at Waidrn is not a black box. Every action is recorded, most actions leave a visible trace, and the aggregate picture is published here. This page explains what we action, what we count, what we never publish, and how to appeal.
Version 1.2 — effective 2026-11-01.
What moderation does
Moderators handle content, not people's money or roles:
- Hide content from public view — during review, or as the outcome. Hidden content keeps a tombstone with the title, author, date and reason, and can be restored if the decision is reversed.
- Resolve or dismiss reports with a written note to the reporter and an entry in the audit log.
- Lock or pin threads, and correct tags (rename, alias, merge) so fandom and tag pages stay usable.
- Escalate account-level action to an admin. Moderators cannot suspend accounts, change roles, touch balances, settle projects or change platform settings.
Content that breaks the Rules or the Content Policy is hidden or removed — including illegal content, harassment or hate, spam, stolen or infringing work, and unlabelled adult content. Content is never removed for being unpopular, critical of Waidrn, or simply disliked by a moderator.
What we publish
Aggregate moderation statistics are published here for the current period. They are counts, never names: no reporter identities, no per-person vote histories, no information that could identify a member who reported something. Per-person moderation records stay private to the member, the moderators and the audit log.
If you are building or maintaining this page: the statistics block is filled from the moderation queue and audit records, and must remain aggregate-only. The copy above and below this marker is stable.
What we count
- reports received and their broad categories;
- reports resolved, dismissed and still open;
- content actions taken (hides, removals with tombstone, locks) and tag corrections;
- account-level actions taken by admins;
- appeals received and their outcomes.
What we never publish
- the identity of reporters, or who was reported;
- individual votes on claims or milestones beyond the aggregate counts already required by project receipts;
- private account, email or session data;
- details of active legal or security matters that could put people at risk.
Appeals
Every reporter receives the outcome and the moderator's note in-app; every restricted member can see the decision on the affected content. If you believe a decision was wrong, mail moderation@waidrn.com with the link and what you think was missed, or reply through the report flow. An admin who did not make the original decision reviews it, and the appeal and outcome are recorded in the audit log. See Moderation for the full process.
Retention and records
Reports, decisions, moderation notes and audit-log entries are retained as the system's permanent accountability record, subject to the Privacy Policy. Project receipts and settlement records are never altered by moderation; if content tied to a project is removed, the receipt and the deliverables already published remain public.
Limits, stated plainly
Waidrn is a small team. We aim to review reports within 48 hours and we escalate illegal content immediately, but we do not promise a fixed SLA. There are no automated penalties on money-bearing content: automated controls may hide ordinary posts, threads or comments pending review, while works, projects and accounts are always queued for a human. There are no invisible penalties: if content is restricted, there is a record, and an appeal path exists.
