Question from a new user: I posted a long thing in a thread and now the post shows a low power warning. Does the text get deleted? Do I need to keep paying? I have read the rules page twice and I am still not sure whether power is storage or a tip jar. It is a small post and I do not want to buy coins for it if the answer is that I should not have posted at all. Any guidance appreciated, even the blunt version.

Power is rent on storage, not a tip jar. Every post has a small buffer; rent is charged per byte per day; when power hits zero the post enters grace for seven days — the text is still there but the page is truncated — and then it is pruned. You can top up any time, and gifts help. Your post is near grace: top it up from your wallet if you want it to stay. Locking this after the answer; the rules page has the long version.

The lightning chip on the post shows the estimate. I learned that the expensive way on my introduction thread. Archivist got here first, as usual, so: [watching for the lock] For the record, my introduction thread cost me about a fifth of my first mint. Worth it, but nobody warned me, and I will be warning the next person who asks. I have also learned that editing a post does not refund its rent, which seems rude.
